Hermes 3 a Short Trip

Y1:D247 – Todays launch of Hermes 3 went well, but not entirely to plan. What was originally being touted as KSC first Kerbal In Orbit mission fell short, literally, when a slight deviation in trajectory meant that the capsule would not be able to maintain a stable orbit.

Officials have not yet determined the cause of the deviation, but many theories have already surfaced. Everything from inaccurate performance data to programming error are under suspicion as technicians review the telemetry to determine just where things diverged from the predictions.

They are quick to point out however, that aside from being slightly off course, all systems performed flawlessly in this first ever Muo-Hermes launch. KSC is also confident that next months Hermes 4 launch will go as planned.
